Things Taste Better Together
What’s better than freshly baked pie? Freshly baked pie made and enjoyed with friends! At least that’s the way it is for our Busy Bakers here at Kingsbridge. Every Saturday morning, right after breakfast service, this talented group gathers in the Activity Room to create something yummy. Afterward, the fruits of their labour are available for all the residents to sample. So… insider tip at Kingsbridge, even if you don’t bake, you’ll want to know when this group meets so you don’t miss out on something delicious.
Kingsbridge resident, Wilhelmine who runs this club, is a lifelong baker. In fact, she was a cake decorator and the Bakery Manager at A&P. She’s brought these skills to Kingsbridge and is always on hand to help people learn. Wilhelmine says, “Working together has allowed us all to keep doing what we love, because we’re there to help each other. It keeps us involved”. And, work together they do, you don’t have to have any prior experience but a sweet tooth is beneficial.
All the supplies and food are provided through our Lifestyle group but donations are always welcome. For instance, right now it’s rhubarb season, so if you have any extra growing in your garden, they’ll make sure it doesn’t go to waste.
If you have a recipe you’d like to share or if you’d like to join, just show up on Saturday morning or connect with Wilhelmine or Ashlee.
You don’t need to be a master chef or have any prior experience to join. All food, supplies and baking tools will be provided. To join connect with Wilhelmine or talk to Ashlee, our Lifestyle Manager.
